Poem: The Power of Words
These words I speak- danger cause
These words I speak bring death to fall
But I can turn these words I speak,
To streams of gold so unique
Embarking on a strong foundation
Knowing that I am God’s creation
So that when I speak, lights shine from heaven,
Then I can go to bed with true Joy and Peace,
For it will be invested in my heart and enriched in my soul,
And in that night, Day will end in this world,
But in spirit- Life will just begin,
That is the Day; I tame my words and speak life’s truth,
For I can lead my life to shame, always putting off the blame
Or I can be the “One Who Overcame!”
I can live today in sorrow or look forward to a better tomorrow!
I can lead a life contradictory or I can lead a life full of victory
I can live a life of stress or I can choose to be a success
I can live my life suppressed or follow God and be blessed,
Cause what I say, plays it’s part
Like written script: each word read from the book of my heart
“I” can write my life’s pages!
The Lord has given me control!
With this authority placed in my hands,
What doors I could open,
What blessings I could have,
What Dreams I could fulfill!
Formed from the foundations of words
So Then, what do I do, where do I start, what role should I impart?
And how will I know which part to play?
Oh Yes! God will pave the way
Then He will lead me to read his word, For His bible leads to THE TRUTH!
Then I will sing His Songs of Praise and expect my mouth to change its ways.
I will rejoice in His Name!
And give thanks to God for gifting me and you the same.
That is, Power, Love and a sound mind… Qualities we all seek to find
So from now on, my tongue will encourage, lift and heal broken hearts
I will continue to pray so it will not be lead astray
Because in the end it is all worthwhile!
Thus through temptations, I face death with a smile
In this day and that day alike, I forever choose Life!
